At the Veteran Career Fair and Expo, there will be training available to help you sharpen your job-seeking skills. Training sessions will be offered throughout the day to provide Veterans like you with the tools you need to begin the next chapter of your professional life.

Resume Building – Learn resume writing tips, the differences between federal and civilian resumes and how to apply for federal jobs

Interview Techniques – Learn how to prepare for different types of interviews, what the federal policies are around Veteran hiring and how to dress for success

Career Coaching – Work one-on-one with career coaches to translate your military skills and learn how to target the career opportunities that are right for you

Job Seeker Boot Camp

VA for Vets will be offering Veterans the chance to attend a Job Seeker Boot Camp. This intensive workshop will empower you to present yourself as the strongest candidate, and stand out in the current civilian workforce.

Workshop attendees will learn how to:

• Translate military skills for civilian careers
• Create a resume to apply for civilian jobs
• Use social networks to create and maintain contacts
• Find civilian jobs that match your skills and interests
• Interview successfully
• Create a profile on VA for Vets to manage your job seeking activities
